Deer Lick Group & Stephan Quintet
NGC 7331 Group & NGC 7319 Group
Our version of the Deer Lick Group & the Stephan Quinteta with the whole AstroFleet team. The data were acquired with our setup (TS-Optics CF-APO 155mm & ASI2600MM Pro) hosted at PixelSkies, Spain plus a Newton 250 hosted in Ariège, France!
Located in the constellation Pegasus, two groups of galaxies are visible in this image:
- In the top right, the spiral galaxy NGC 7331 and its satellite galaxies. This group is called the Deer Lick Group and includes four other members: NGC 7335, NGC 7336, NGC 7337, and NGC 7340.
- In the bottom left of the same image, the Stephan's Quintet is also present. This grouping of five galaxies originally consisted of NGC 7317, NGC 7318a, NGC 7318b, NGC 7319, and NGC 7320.
However, only the first four galaxies mentioned (from NGC 7317 to NGC 7319) form a compact group and are located in the same region, with their spiral arms and disks being significantly distorted by tidal forces.
This group is estimated to be situated approximately 340 million light-years away from the Milky Way. NGC 7320, on the other hand, is much closer (between 35 and 40 million light-years).
It is also noteworthy that numerous Integrated Flux Nebulae (IFN) are present in the image.

Ce groupe s'appelle le Deer Lick Group et contient quatre autres membres : NGC7335, NGC 7336, NGC 7337 et NGC 7340. - Dans cette même image, en bas a gauche, le Quintet de Stephan est un groupement de galaxies également.
Ce groupe de cinq galaxies est constitué à l'origine de NGC 7317, NGC 7318a, NGC 7318b, NGC 7319 et NGC 7320.
Ce groupe serait situé à environ 340 millions d'années-lumière de la Voie lactée. NGC 7320, quant à elle est beaucoup plus proche (entre 35 et 40 millions d'années-lumière).
