NGC 7331 Group & NGC 7319 Group

The Deer Lick Group (NGC 7331) and Stephan's Quintet, two galaxy groups in Pegasus at very different distances, in 39.5 hours of HaLRGB

Located in the constellation Pegasus, two groups of galaxies are visible in this image:

In the top right, the spiral galaxy NGC 7331 and its satellite galaxies. This group is called the Deer Lick Group and includes four other members: NGC 7335, NGC 7336, NGC 7337, and NGC 7340.
In the bottom left of the same image, the Stephan's Quintet is also present. This grouping of five galaxies originally consisted of NGC 7317, NGC 7318a, NGC 7318b, NGC 7319, and NGC 7320.

However, only the first four galaxies mentioned (from NGC 7317 to NGC 7319) form a compact group and are located in the same region, with their spiral arms and disks being significantly distorted by tidal forces.

This group is estimated to be situated approximately 340 million light-years away from the Milky Way. NGC 7320, on the other hand, is much closer (between 35 and 40 million light-years).

It is also noteworthy that numerous Integrated Flux Nebulae (IFN) are present in the image.

Situés dans la constellation de Pégase, on retrouve 2 groupes de galaxies dans cette image :

En haut a droite, La galaxie spirale NGC 7331 et ses galaxies satellites.
Ce groupe s'appelle le Deer Lick Group et contient quatre autres membres : NGC7335, NGC 7336, NGC 7337 et NGC 7340.
Dans cette même image, en bas a gauche, le Quintet de Stephan est un groupement de galaxies également.
Ce groupe de cinq galaxies est constitué à l'origine de NGC 7317, NGC 7318a, NGC 7318b, NGC 7319 et NGC 7320.

Cependant, seules les quatre premières galaxies citées (de NGC 7317 à NGC 7319) forment un groupe compact et sont situées dans une même région, leurs bras spiraux et leurs disques étant d'ailleurs très déformés par les forces de marée.

Ce groupe serait situé à environ 340 millions d'années-lumière de la Voie lactée. NGC 7320, quant à elle est beaucoup plus proche (entre 35 et 40 millions d'années-lumière).

On peut également noter la présence de nombreux IFN dans l'image.
